This January, Staff Learning & Development changed its name to Organizational Learning and Effectiveness in order to more accurately reflect the nature and scope of the unit.
Organizational Learning and Effectiveness works with academic leaders, managers and staff across the institution to design and implement workplace learning solutions and systems that enhance individual and organizational effectiveness, performance and transformation.
In addition to a wide variety of popular programs such as Chairs School, APO School and U of A Advantage, Organizational Learning and Effectiveness will continue to lead or facilitate projects that help staff and departments align their efforts with the aspirations of the University community. Examples of current projects supported by the unit include Faculty transitions to Edmonton Clinic Health Academy, Gmail implementation, the Registrar Office Welcome Centre initiative, an enhanced Academic Leadership Development program, University-wide Orientation, and the implementation of customer service standards. Also announced was the launch of a Core Competency framework, the Pathways Learning Series, for Support Staff.
