2012 Summer Student Employment Programs

The primary objective of government funded student summer employment programs is to support the creation of temporary jobs for full time students. The expectation is that the temporary jobs will benefit students financially, provide career related experience, and support community priorities.

Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) - The federal government will be accepting online applications until February 29, 2012. Faculties and Departments must submit applications directly to Service Canada and will be advised by the end of April whether their application was approved for funding. For full program details and eligibility requirements visit the Service Canada website.

Summer Temporary Employment Program (STEP) – As in previous years, Recruitment Services will facilitate the program at the U of A. Deadline for submissions to Recruitment Services are March 7, 2012 or March 14, 2012 for positions within Faculties. The application can be found in the HRS Forms Cabinet.
