NASA Collective Agreement: Summary of Changes 2012-13

The University and NASA ratified a three year collective agreement effective July 19, 2012 through March 31, 2015.  For more information you can review the following highlights from the agreement or view the Collective Agreement Summary of Changes for 2012-13.
Highlights from the agreement are: 

April 1, 2012 – 2.0% (retroactive)
April 1, 2013 – 1.65%
April 2, 2014 – 1.65%
Lump sum payments*
December 2013 – maximum of $400 pro-rated based on months of employment and FTE
December 2014 – maximum of $400 pro-rated based on months of employment and FTE
Effective January 1, 2013, a Health Spending Account (HSA) of $1000 and a Lifestyle & Wellness Account (LWA) of $250 will be implemented. 
Effective January 1, 2014, increased flexibility with the HSA and LWA allowing for a maximum of $1250 to be allocated between the two accounts.
Salary Scales
Effective January 1, 2013, the salary scales will have steps 7.5 and 8.5

* Employees with a recurring term appointment and on an inactive period on November 30, 2012 and November 30 2013, will be eligible for the lump sum payments upon return to active status.  If they do not return to active status, they will not be eligible for lump sum payments.
