As of July 1, 2013, Auxiliary Hourly Trust paid employees are eligible for general illness coverage under the Trustholders Extraordinary Expense Fund (TEEF). This means that a surcharge of 1% salary will be collected beginning July 1 from any trust employees not funded from a Tri-Council Grant who have acquired auxiliary status of more than 1707 hours of employment.
As you prepare to hire staff for the fall please consider the impact of an employee’s end date on whether or not they are eligible to be paid for Winter Closure. Auxiliary and regular support staff need to work their last normal working date prior to winter closure and their first normal working day after the closure in order to be eligible.
