The move to six digit department IDs within PeopleSoft HCM that was announced in the March Hiring & Managing Newsletter and anticipated to take effect on April 1 has been delayed temporarily due to a number of unforeseen consequences and cross-institutional impacts.

Effective April 1, 2015, the premium for Optional Dependent Life Insurance will increase. The employer paid monthly premium rates for the Supplemental Health Care, Dental, Life Insurance, Long-Term Disability, and Employee Family Assistance Program will also change to reflect the increase or decrease in cost. The academic salary rates/ranges are currently under review as part of compensation negotiations. If you are preparing appointment letters for appointments starting on or after July 1, 2015, please add the following statement to your academic appointment letters in the salary rate section:
Effective April 1, the University will change the process of how departments are numbered within the Peoplesoft HCM. Department numbers within the HCM will now be six digits, using the same number as the Financials system.

Immigration Services, Human Resource Services has implemented changes in how the International Mobility Program (IMP) will be handled to create efficiencies and reduce the administrative burden for the campus community.
We have invited new employees to attend the Faculty and Staff Orientation on March 17th from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. All faculty and staff who have not attended orientation in the past are welcome to participate. Participants will receive an overview of the university’s mission and learn about essential services, key contacts and programs. Please encourage new employees in your area to learn more about the session and register via the Learning Shop.

The Voluntary 5-Day Personal Leave Plan is open for 2015-16. The plan offers the opportunity for eligible employees to take additional leave while producing a cost savings to individual departments or units. Employees who participate in the plan apply for five days of leave without pay and have the cost of the leave deducted in equal installments over the twelve month plan period beginning in July 1 and ending June 30. Employees who wish to participate need to submit an application to their supervisor or department head for approval by April 30, 2015. As announced on February 9, the Semi-Monthly pay period March 16 to 31 has been adjusted to align with the Fiscal Year end as follows. The Smart Form deadline has changed from March 30, 2015 to March 27, 2015. The
Time sheet deadline has changed from April 1, 2015 to March 31, 2015. The Pay confirm deadline has changed from April 7, 2015 to April 2, 2015.
