While winter break seems far off, in immigration time it's just around the corner! Foreign nationals whose immigration status will expire in the next few months will need to factor in Citizenship and Immigration Canada’s current 112 day processing time for a work permit. Any foreign national travelling over the holidays will need to have their work permit (or study permit) in hand prior to departure.

Fall/Winter hours begin on September 1, 2015 at the University of Alberta. Employees with a regularly scheduled workday of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. will change to 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Please contact Human Resource Services at General.Inquiries@ualberta.ca if you have any questions.
Academic appointment letter templates in the HRS Forms Cabinet have been revised to now include the immigration caveat. Departments will no longer be required to insert the caveat for all non-Canadians (work permit and Permanent Residents) and instead the caveat will be included on all letters automatically.
