Cancellation of PLP for Support Staff: What You Need to Know

As we have shared previously, the 2016-17 Personal Leave Plan for Support Staff has been cancelled. Any applications from support staff that have already been received by HRS will not be processed for July 1, 2016.

What period is this cancellation for?
The cancellation of the NASA PLP program is for the period of July 1, 2016 - June 30, 2017. There are no changes to the current program under way ending June 30, 2016.

What if I already submitted my application and it was signed off?
Any support applications that have already been received in HRS will not be processed for July 1, 2016.

Will I be contacted?
HRS will not be notifying individual employees or departments, nor will they be returning any Application forms already received. These applications will be confidentially disposed of by HRS.

What alternatives are there if I would like to take the time off without pay?
If you are are interested in a leave without pay (LWOP), please refer to 22.01 - Part A, Article 11.01 - Part B and Article 16.01 - Part C and contact your supervisor to discuss further.

How is the Leave without pay processed?
LWOP if approved, would be reported on the Exception Reporting Form and keyed as time taken to reduce your pay in the period in which it is taken.
