Processing of the AASUA Monetary Settlement

With the ratification of the AASUA collective agreement, Human Resource Services is processing the negotiated Across-the- Board (ATB) increase and the commensurate merit increments for academic staff to be paid July 28, 2016. As this is a work in progress, please do not use 2015 or 2016 salary amounts currently in Peoplesoft HCM as they are subject to change as we work through the process. We will also be applying the July 1, 2016 ATB for active appointments in HCM.

Human Resource Services is processing the negotiated Across-the- Board (ATB) increase and the commensurate merit increments for academic staff to be paid July 28, 2016 as per the following:
  • Year 1 (July 1, 2015 to June 30, 2016) ATB: 1.5% and applicable Merit to be paid retroactively
  • Year 2 (July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2017) ATB: 1.0% and July 2016 applicable Merit
We will let you know when you may use the salary amounts in the system.

  • Rehire without an Increment - Ensure the appointment letter includes "subject to negotiations". Please use the 2014-2015 salary scale (do not change salary) and confirm that there is no increment eligibility for July 1, 2016 in the comments section of either the PAF or ePAF.

Once all retro-active pay has been calculated and processed, a detailed report will be provided in late July to Department and Faculty HR contacts. This will enable departments to address any employee questions related to pay. Should there be a discrepancy, the department will need to contact Employment Services for further review.

Faculty, FSO, Librarion, APO Only:

Salary letters for 2015 & 2016 will be distributed electronically at the end of July using the same process as was used in 2014.

We appreciate your continued patience and cooperation. If you have any processing questions, please contact employmentservices@ualberta.ca.
