Updates to AASUA Retroactive Pay

For terminated AASUA employees, retroactive pay will be processed by August 30, 2016. For active AAUSA employees, HRS will be issuing reports on retroactive pay to all departments following the monthly pay confirm.

Retroactive Pay for Former NASA Employees

Anyone who worked for the University and was covered by the NASA Collective Agreement for any period of time since April 1, 2016, and has now left the employ of the University is entitled to receive retroactive pay for the period of time worked since April 1, 2016.

Change to Special Sessions Hires - September 1, 2016

A reminder that as of September 2016, all hires for special sessions courses must be submitted according to the appropriate collective agreement as the Special Sessions Pay Action Form (PAFs) will no longer be available or accepted. If you have questions as to the appropriate PAF or ePAF and appointment letter to use, please contact employmentservices@ualberta.ca or visit Hiring for Special Sessions Courses webpage.

Faculty and Staff Orientation - August 9, 2016

Human Resource Services has invited new employees to attend the Faculty and Staff Orientation on August 9, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. All faculty and staff who have not attended orientation in the past are welcome to participate. Participants will receive an overview of the university’s mission and learn about essential services, key contacts and programs. Please encourage new employees in your area to learn more about the session and register via the Learning Shop.

Benefits Coverage for Dependents who are Students

Dependents who are at least 21 but under 25 years of age and are registered students in full-time attendance at a university or similar institution of learning are eligible for supplementary health and dental care coverage through the benefits plan.

Processing Academic Appointments

As follow up to the message regarding Processing of the AASUA Monetary Settlement, 2015 Across-the-Board (ATB) increases and increment(s) have now been applied in HCM, as has 2016 ATB. We can now begin to process July 2016 appointments. Employment Services will manually adjust the ATB and applicable increment(s) indicated on these appointments.
