Processing Academic Appointments

As follow up to the message regarding Processing of the AASUA Monetary Settlement, 2015 Across-the-Board (ATB) increases and increment(s) have now been applied in HCM, as has 2016 ATB. We can now begin to process July 2016 appointments. Employment Services will manually adjust the ATB and applicable increment(s) indicated on these appointments.

To process all Academic appointments for August 1, 2016 (or later):

For New Hires - Ensure the appointment letter does not include "subject to negotiations" in the body and use the 2016-2017 appropriate salary scale.

For Rehires - Ensure the appointment letter does not include "subject to negotiations" in the body and use the 2016-2017 appropriate salary scale/rates and add any applicable increment(s) due August 1, 2016 (or later).

Please refer to salary scales found on the Salary Scales webpage.

If you have already completed an August 2016 (or later) appointment letter using the 2014-2015 salary scale, the appointment letter does not need to be adjusted as long as the “subject to negotiations” was included. Please modify the paper PAF or ePAF to reflect the correct amount using 2016-2017 salary scale and add any applicable increment(s) due on the rehire date. Please also note in comments the details of how the 2016-2017 salary was calculated. If you have already submitted an August (or later) appointment we will be in touch directly with you regarding next steps.
