EDI Week Keynote: "Spotlight on Race: Recruitment and Retention with an EDI Lens"

Equity, Diversity, Inclusion (EDI) Week 2018 is quickly approaching! Faculty, staff, students, and members of the public are invited to join us for our keynote presentation "Spotlight on Race: Recruitment and Retention with an EDI Lens" delivered by Dr. Carl E. James at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21. Join Dr. James as he unpacks structures and mechanisms that serve to enhance or hinder equity in employment, especially for Black and Indigenous scholars, administrators, and support staff.

The keynote will be followed by a panel discussion moderated by Candy Khan, PhD (Candidate), Education Policy Studies and EDI Advisor, HRS. Panelists: Brendan Woychuk, Interim Director, Compensation, Talent Acquisition, & Workforce Planning, HRS; Florence Glanfield, Professor & Chair, Secondary Education, Faculty of Education; and, Kumarie Achaibar-Morrison, Associate Director, International Student Services. Although the event is scheduled to take place from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., we recognize that some may need to leave by 1:00 p.m. A light lunch will be provided.
